Are you a dynamic communicator with deep expertise in public and press relations? Do you have experience amplifying brand presence in finance, fintech, or wealth management industries? Datalign Advisory is seeking a Principal, Public and Press Relations to drive strategic communication initiatives and elevate our brand’s visibility across traditional and digital channels.
In this role, you will craft compelling narratives, develop impactful media strategies, and leverage social media platforms to build a robust online presence. You will also collaborate closely with technical teams to translate complex data and insights into compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences. Additionally, you will play a key role in thought leadership by authoring blogs and partnering with leadership on messaging that aligns with our mission of delivering clarity through data-driven solutions.
This is an on-site role, based in Cambridge, MA, with the expectation of being in the office four days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement public and press relations strategies that position Datalign Advisory as a leader in finance, fintech, and wealth management.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with financial and fintech journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to distill complex data, analytics, and technical concepts into engaging, easily understood messaging for media and the public.
- Create and manage a dynamic content strategy, including writing and publishing blogs that highlight Datalign’s expertise and insights.
- Drive engagement through social media channels, including strategy development, content creation, and performance analysis.
- Partner with leadership to develop thought leadership opportunities, including whitepapers, op-eds, and speaking engagements.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Manage crisis communications to protect and enhance Datalign’s reputation.
- Analyze communication efforts using data and metrics to continuously refine and improve strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in public relations, journalism, or corporate communications, with a focus on finance, fintech, or wealth management industries.
- Proven experience collaborating with technical teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible messaging.
- Demonstrated success in media relations, including established relationships with financial and fintech press.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms, including strategy development and content creation.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of authored blogs, articles, or other published content.
- Strong executive presence and ability to advise senior leaders on communication strategies.
- Expertise in developing and executing multi-channel communication strategies.
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience working in a professional services or data-driven advisory firm.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for blogging and social media.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use metrics to drive decision-making and measure success.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in digital and social media communication within the finance or fintech space.
